🐝 The Business Buzz ☕️

Happy Monday!
Here’s the Business Buzz with A Helpful Trend, Tip, Tool, and
a Hot Take from HiveThink to help you this week.
01 HiveTrend - Building Culture Through Stories
As the ideas of conscious capitalism grow, we believe more companies will be more intentional about developing culture so that the heart and vision of the founders can be more easily picked up and adopted by their employees.
How do we do this?
📖 Story and Narrative.
What’s the difference? They can often be seen as different things, but for our purposes today we’ll breaking it down as follows:
Storytelling is all the little stories that add up to someone having a particular belief. “The new Marvel movie is probably really good, because of (story 1), (story 2), etc.”
💡 Narrative is the resulting story that people tell themselves from that belief. “I should go watch that new Marvel movie because it’s so good.”
What are the stories you need to be sharing within your teams in order to build up a positive narrative of what it means to be a part of your business or organization?
02 HiveTip - Completing The Stress Cycle
🔥 Life can be stressful. If enough of that stress adds up, it can lead to burnout.
I was listening to to Brené Brown’s podcast, Unlocking Us, and this one episode talked about burnout and how to reduce the likelihood or severity of burnout.
Did you know that even after you deal with the stressors at work, in your business, or in your life, that doesn’t mean you’ve dealt with the actual stress in your body?
💻 For many of us in the modern world, we are dealing with stress while sitting down at our computers or on our phones.
Then, we go home and sit down to watch shows or scroll on our phones.
Turns out, doing something physical can help tell our brains that “we’re okay” while also burning off some of that stress. Then, when we actually do sit down to veg out, we can actually get the most out of that resting.
🏃♀️ What physical activities do you think you could incorporate into your day to help you deal with stress and transition to rest?
03 HiveTool - Google Forms: Surprisingly Versatile!
Did you know that Google Forms can do more than just create sign-up sheets?
📡 One of the coolest things about Google Forms is its ability to collect feedback on products. With Google Forms, you can easily gather feedback, conduct surveys, quizzes, and of course, create sign-up sheets.
So next time you need to collect feedback on products or anything else, give Google Forms a try. You might be surprised how helpful it is!
04 HiveTake - Simplify to Amplify
Complex things are complex.
🔍 They also have so much hidden complexity that you don’t encounter until you dive deeper.
Most “simple” things also have hidden complexity.
🤯 This is a big part of why it’s easy to overcommit ourselves.
So, what can we do?
📢 Simplify to Amplify.
Identify the few, simple things that actually matter.
Do your best to remove anything else that you can, because even with your reduced workload, you’ll probably discover that to do those few things at the level and volume needed to get results, you’re going to have to use all the time and energy you have.
Do less, but better, with greater focus.
Until next time,
The HiveThink Team
P.S. One of the words we keep hearing people use to describe our monthly community event, Coffee Break, is “intentional.” This led us down the rabbit hole in our latest podcast episode exploring “The Role of Intentionality as an Entrepreneur.”
You can listen to it here! We’re really passionate about this topic, and we hope you get a lot out of it.
