🐝 The Business Buzz ☕️

Happy Monday!

Here’s the Business Buzz with A Helpful Trend, Tip, Tool, and

a Hot Take from HiveThink to help you this week.

01 HiveTrend - Will This YouTube Wave Cross Over Into Short Form Social Media?

🌊 There’s been a wave of YouTubers making it big from simple videos that are not highly produced.

In these videos, they mostly talk to the camera for long periods of time without lots of cuts, b-roll, or crazy things happening.

🤳 A lot of times, things that are big on YouTube or TikTok tend to cross over into the other social media platforms, so does this mean we can all just hop on a camera and do really well now?

Well, yes and no.

The thing that most of these more authenticity-based YouTubers have in common is that they were already extraordinary in some aspect of life before they started their channels.

💪 A good example is Sam Sulek, a young body builder in his twenties who gained 2.8 million subscribers in under a year.

The thing is, he was already an epic body builder when he started.

So, how do we also take advantage of this wave without having to spend a decade becoming the best at something?

Find your unique selling point.

What are the things that people go to you for?

🧘‍♀️ What are the things that others find hard to do, but for you, it’s as easy as breathing?

If you, 1, discover and lean on those strengths and, 2, practice talking to a camera, then there’s no reason that you can’t be part of the wave.

02 HiveTip - Want To Make Better Content, This Small Change Will Help

🎁 When viewers find your video, they want to know what’s in it for them.

If you wait too long to tell them, some will click off.

If you don’t tell them, most will click off.

🗣️ Start your video with a simple statement of what they will get out of watching your video, and you will have a much greater chance of content success.

Good luck!

03 HiveTool - A Resource For Business Owners During Hard Times

🤯 Running a business is one of the most stressful things you can do.

Chris Wood, owner of (Be)Caffeinated and one of the HiveThink owners, says that hearing stories of the hard times from successful business founders was one of the most helpful things for his mental health as a business owner.

🎙️ His favorite source of these stories comes from the podcast, How I Built This with Guy Raz.

“Honestly, you could start at the first episode and listen to them all.” - Chris

04 HiveTake - Balancing Future Planning And The Now

Many times, people make choices based on what they hope will happen in the future instead of what's happening right now.

While it's good to have future goals, often things turn out very different than we first dream up.

🔮 If you fall into the trap of planning out hypothetical future details, it can really slow down your progress

So, what should we do instead?

Instead of planning every little detail for the future, it's better to plan for what you can do right now while glancing over at the long-term, bigger picture. In a way, it’s very much like using a GPS.

You set your GPS to the destination, but the majority of the time driving you’re keeping your eyes on the road and making sure you don’t miss your next turn.

Until next time,

The HiveThink Team
