🐝 The Business Buzz ☕️

Happy Monday!

Here’s the Business Buzz with A Helpful Trend, Tip, Tool, and

a Hot Take from HiveThink to help you this week…

01 HiveTrend - Thanksgiving!

🦃 Thanksgiving Vibes:

Get ready to spice up your social media with some Thanksgiving magic! 🍁 Incorporate festive content, share gratitude stories, or highlight your team's celebrations. The #Thanksgiving and #Friendsgiving hashtags are your go-to for reaching a broader audience hungry for seasonal content.

🎄 Embrace the Grinch-mania:

Guess who's still stealing the spotlight? That's right, the Grinch is still trending! 🎁 Ride the wave of this timeless character's popularity by weaving some Grinch-inspired content into your feed. Whether it's a cheeky holiday meme or a heartwarming story, your audience will appreciate the seasonal touch.

Remember, staying on top of these trends not only keeps your content fresh but also engages your audience in the holiday spirit. Happy posting! 🌟

02 HiveTip - Diagnose Your Content Pt. 1 - Likes

If your content isn’t getting a lot of likes compared to what your posts usually get, there’s a good chance that the idea is the problem. What you thought up wasn’t as exciting to others as you imagined.

What makes a good idea?

Generally speaking, a good idea will be something that is relevant to your audience, meaning they would actually care about it if it popped up onto their feeds.

When you’re in your business or industry for so long it can be hard to see with fresh eyes, that’s why it’s important to evaluate your ideas.

How to evaluate your ideas?

💡 Doing some empathetic thought experiments where you truly imagine what it’s like to be your ideal audience member can be really helpful to test out ideas.

☕️ Also, consider reaching out to someone that fits your ideal customer persona and offer to buy their coffee and ask them about what they are interested in or concerned about when it comes to your world. This can be an idea gold mine!

03 HiveTool - The Ultimate Prioritization Tool To Regain Control From the Chaos

Today, we’ll be sharing one of the tools Michael on our team swears by. It’s a little checklist for reducing your ongoing workload as much as possible, ultimately freeing you up to do more, (or possibly even get some rest here and there). It’s especially helpful whenever you feel overwhelmed, because each step you take frees you up more and more.

Here it is: Eliminate, Automate, Delegate, Optimize, Do It.

01 Eliminate 🔥

Eliminate anything on your workload that isn’t bearing fruit. Bonus points if it’s something recurring. If a non-fruit bearing task you’re doing every week takes you 2 hours, then that means you just saved yourself 104 hours over the next year and every year following. Great job!

02 Automate 🔄

Ask yourself of any tasks that come up repeatedly, “is there a way I can set this on auto-pilot?” A great example is bills, if you’re manually paying bills, how much stress and time would you save setting them up on auto-pay?

03 Delegate 🗣️Can’t find a way to automate something that needs to be done that’s able to taught to others? This is a great chance to delegate that task to someone else, so you can focus on doing the things that only you can do.

04 Optimize 🧠

Okay, there’s some to-do’s that made it through the first 3 gauntlets, now what? This is where you do everything in your power to make this task as easy as possible to do. Can you create templates that help you do the task quicker? Can you create a flowchart that helps you make a type of decision quicker? Look at every aspect of the task at hand and see what you can do to reduce the amount of effort required to knock it out.

05 Nike - Just Do It 💪

It’s unavoidable. Some tasks just need doing. Use whatever personal tactics you’ve developed over time to get you to do stuff. Having trouble? Look into pomodoro timers, body doubling, time blocking, and energy management. You got this!

04 HiveTake - Networking, At It’s Best, Is Not About Making Sales

We believe that networking is about relationships and not trying to make sales.

The societies that have a cross pollination of business owners, nonprofit leaders, artists, musicians, and resources tend to be the happiest.

That’s why we’re excited to officially announce that we’re starting a monthly networking event called Gig City Networking.

The idea of Gig City Networking is to have a community-focused monthly meetup where we can create a space for awesome people across business, nonprofits, and the arts to meet each other and see what kind of wonderful things get sparked because of that.

What can you expect when you show up?

01 Hang out and get to know people while drinking (Be)Caffeinated coffee

02 We’ll spotlight a monthly non-profit, artist, and community resource

03 A speaker will teach you something short and practical

When will this happen?

This will happen every month on the 2nd Friday of the month. The location will likely change around, but we’ll keep you up to date on the location and times here in The Business Buzz.

The First Gig Networking Event Details

Friday, December 8th from 8:30am - 10:00am
