🐝 The Business Buzz ☕️

Happy Monday!
Here’s the Business Buzz with A Helpful Trend, Tip, Tool, and
a Hot Take from HiveThink to help you this week…
01 HiveTrend - Turkey’s Done, Now What?
🤖 The Last of the Black Friday Wave… Cyber Monday:
If you’re reading this on Monday, Nov. 27th it is #Cybermonday. If you’re still looking to capitalize on some last minute sales to generate some cash flow, think up a fun way to package up a sale of your goods or services that’s appealing to your customer and still works for you! 🎁
🎄 The Grinch-mania has finally slowed down:
The usage of #Grinch has slowed down, but with Turkey Day in the rear-view mirror, many people are immediately turning around and putting up their trees and lights for Christmas. Consider decorating for your business now and playing off the excitement and urgency of getting in the Christmas spirit right after Thanksgiving. 🎄
Staying updated on these trends not only keeps your content current but also gets your audience into the holiday mood. Happy sharing! 🌟
02 HiveTip - Diagnose Your Content Pt. 2 - Comments
If your content isn’t getting the comments and engagement you are hoping for, there’s a good chance that the problem is that it isn’t connecting emotionally. It may or may not be helpful or somewhat interesting, but either way it’s missing that internal connection that causes people to comment.
So, what makes a piece of content connect emotionally?
The answer is actually easier than you may realize. It’s Intentionality.
If you don’t plan to create an emotion in your viewers, then you probably won’t. You’ll likely think very transactionally about the post you’re making.
On the other hand, imagine this.
You choose joy as the emotion you hope to give people through your post. Let’s get even more specific. A joy created by seeing friends have fun together.
No matter what the main topic is that you’re communicating, this post already has an emotional north star. I bet just reading that creates ideas in your head.
You can do this with any emotion, and again, the more specific you get with the emotion, the easier it will be to generate ideas.
How to evaluate your ideas?
💡 Easy! Do you have an emotional intention for your piece of content? Have you thought about how to execute it? Great job! That’s the biggest thing to focus on with this.
👏 The other way of evaluating your ideas is by putting them out online and seeing if they get the comments you would expect based off the emotion you were going for. It takes practice to execute the desired emotion in content, so don’t give up if it doesn’t land with your first several shots. Keep being intentional!
03 HiveTool - 🚀 Boost Your Productivity with the Important and Urgent Matrix!
Ever felt overwhelmed by a mountain of tasks and wondered where to start? Enter the Important and Urgent Matrix, a game-changer from Stephen Covey's playbook.
Quadrant I - Urgent and Important:
Think deadlines, crises, and must-do-now situations. Tackling these tasks head-on is crucial.
Quadrant II - Not Urgent but Important:
The sweet spot for long-term success. Plan here for strategic moves, personal growth, and relationship building.
Quadrant III - Urgent but Not Important:
Watch out for distractions! Some things seem urgent but won't move the needle much. Be mindful of where your time goes.
Quadrant IV - Not Urgent and Not Important:
The danger zone of time-wasters. Limit these to make room for what really matters.
Remember, the real magic happens in Quadrant II. By giving important, non-urgent tasks the attention they deserve, you'll stay ahead of the game and conquer your to-do list like a pro.
Happy prioritizing!

Here it is visually if that’s helpful.
I find it can be helpful sometimes to even draw on a piece of paper and sort them into the quadrants visually.
04 HiveTake - Networking, At It’s Best, Is Not About Making Sales
We’re so excited about Gig City Networking that we wanted to make sure that if you missed our write-up about it last week, that you still heard about it. Read more below, and we hope to see you there on December 8th!
We believe that networking is about relationships and not trying to make sales.
The societies that have a cross pollination of business owners, nonprofit leaders, artists, musicians, and resources tend to be the happiest.
That’s why we’re excited to officially announce that we’re starting a monthly networking event called Gig City Networking.

The idea of Gig City Networking is to have a community-focused monthly meetup where we can create a space for awesome people across business, nonprofits, and the arts to meet each other and see what kind of wonderful things get sparked because of that.
What can you expect when you show up?
01 Hang out and get to know people while drinking (Be)Caffeinated coffee
02 We’ll spotlight a monthly non-profit, artist, and community resource
03 A speaker will teach you something short and practical
When will this happen?
This will happen every month on the 2nd Friday of the month. The location will likely change around, but we’ll keep you up to date on the location and times here in The Business Buzz.
The First Gig Networking Event Details
Friday, December 8th from 8:30am - 10:00am
Somerville Ave Society of Work
110 Somerville Ave Suite 266
Coffee and baked goods from (Be)Caffeinated.
